I’ve had a lovely couple of buggy runs lately (some sweatier than others!) and I thought I’d share a cool trick I’ve recently discovered.
It can be hard sometimes to communicate with my little one when running, especially if she’s under either the sun shade or the rain cover (we’ve used both this week as it happens).
Plus, when we race, I always explain to my daughter that I can’t necessarily answer her questions or talk back (or sing along!) as I don’t have the spare breath when I’m trying hard.
She understands this of course, but when we were preparing our stroller marathon I realised that I needed a better solution, as 3+ hours is a long time without much chitchat.
I discovered we had two of these cute little scooter hooters in the house (see pic). So I replaced the batteries, attached the blue one to the buggy handlebars and gave the red one to my passenger.
Now we have a little game where she presses one of the buttons (it makes four distinct silly sounds) and then I “reply” by pressing the same one 🙃 She loves it and sometimes we “talk” like this for ages!
(It’s also useful for getting path-hogging dawdlers to move out of the way 😉😆)
